I believe it’s time to kick fear in the face and unleash our bravery to fulfill the plans and purposes God has for our lives. Fear has held back too many believers for too long, and it’s time to go all-in and say yes to Jesus, even if you’re afraid.
Throughout my life, I have battled with fear. Every yes I have given to God came with trembling, worry, and fear. But over 20 years ago, I had an encounter with Jesus on a mission trip to Mexico that changed my life forever. I decided that even though fear may come knocking on my door, I will obey God and just do it scared. I have realized that being brave isn’t the absence of fear; it’s saying yes to God even when I am afraid.
Today, I am an author, speaker, pastor, church planter, and co-founder of a non-profit ministry called Open Arms Mexico. We prevent the abandonment of children to the streets and orphanages, keeping families together by providing no-cost childcare.
I wish I had a book like this when I was younger to help me realize what true bravery looks like. Whether you are in ministry, on the mission field, in the marketplace, or at home, you need to know what living courageously looks like in your sphere of influence.
